As ecologically unequal exchange, international trade leads to the constriction of the ecological operating space of some while expanding that operating space for others. This not only allows for further growth but also exacerbates already existing ecological inequalities and asymmetrical power relations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"left\"><strong>Zusammenfassung: <\/strong>Die wachstumsgeleitete \u201aEntwicklung\u2018, die derzeit trotz verheerender \u00f6kologischer und sozialer Konsequenzen verfolgt wird, ist abh\u00e4ngig von \u00f6kologischer Ungleichheit. Als \u00f6kologisch ungleicher Tausch erlaubt der Au\u00dfenhandel die Ausdehnung des \u00f6kologischen Handlungsspielraums einiger weniger, w\u00e4hrend er f\u00fcr viele andere deren Einengung bedeutet.
